Moving Shapes

You can move shapes with either the mouse or the keyboard. You can move one shape at a time, or move multiple shapes at once.

To move a single shape with the mouse:

  1. Make sure that either no shapes are selected, or only the one shape to be moved is selected.
  2. Position the cursor over the shape to be moved.
  3. Click and hold the left mouse button down.
  4. Drag the shape to where you want it.
  5. Release the mouse button.

To move multiple shapes with the mouse:

  1. Select the shapes to be moved.
  2. Position the cursor over any of the selected shapes, but not over any of the selected shapes' handles. When the cursor is in the correct position, it will appear as a 4-way arrow.
  3. Click and hold the left mouse button down.
  4. Drag the shapes to where you want them.
  5. Release the mouse button.

To move one or more shapes with the keyboard:

  1. Select the shapes to be moved.
  2. Use the arrow keys to move the shapes. If you hold down the Shift or Ctrl key while using the arrow keys, the shapes will move by a smaller distance.
