Changing Shape Properties

All shapes have some properties that can be changed. At the very least, a shape's color can be changed, but many shapes also have dimensions and/or other properties that can be changed, as well. Even if a shape properties dialog box is not displayed when a shape is created, the shape may have properties in addition to color which can be changed after the shape is created.

To change a shape's properties after it has been created:

  1. Position the cursor over the shape to be changed.
  2. Click the right mouse button. The shape to be changed will become selected, and a popup menu will appear.
  3. Select the "sss Properties..." menu item, where "sss" is the name of the shape. A dialog box will appear displaying the properties of the selected shape.
  4. Change the shape properties as displayed on the dialog box.
  5. Click the OK button to finalize the changes.

Although the above is the quickest way to change a shape's properties, you can also change a shape's properties by selecting the shape, and then using the "Edit / sss Properties..." menu item.

The details of what shape properties are available to be changed depends on the shape being changed. However, two properties are available on nearly every shape properties dialog box:

The first property common to all shape properties dialog boxes is the shape's color. You can also change the color of multiple shapes at once, by using the "Edit / Color..." menu item. For more information, see Changing Shape Colors.

The second property common to almost all shape properties dialog boxes is the "Edit sss properties upon creation" checkbox. Check this checkbox if you want the shape properties dialog box for this shape type to be displayed automatically, every time you create a shape of this type.
