Creating UKC Courses

In addition to supporting all of the UKC obstacles, Course Designer contains several features specifically for creating UKC courses. To use any of these features, you must first set the organization to UKC on the shape creation toolbar. For more information, see Creating Shapes.

You can set the UKC agility class using the "Edit / UKC Agility Class..." menu item. Setting the agility class will affect the number of check boxes displayed on UKC style obstacle labels, and the obstacle point values displayed on those obstacle labels. The agility class is also displayed on the UKC footer.

To display the standard course footer used on UKC courses, ensure that the "View / UKC Footer" menu item is checked.

To create UKC style obstacle labels, select either "Light UKC" or "Dark UKC" as the obstacle label style on the Obstacle Label Properties dialog box. For the point values on the obstacle labels to be correct, you must set the UKC agility class as described above, and ensure that the obstacle labels are closest to the obstacle to which they refer.

If you want to automatically create dog paths based on the obstacle labels, you must also ensure that the obstacle labels are positioned such that they indicate the desired entrance to the obstacles. For more information, see Dog Path.
